When the word ‘culture’ is used, many take it to be the way of life of a certain set of people. A renowned Russian author (Anton Chekhov) stated that, "In order to feel comfortable among educated people, to be at home and happy with them, one must be cultured to a certain extent."
Unfortunately, culture is not something being taught in schools or other institutions today. There was a time when fine gentlemen and ladies would be sent off to learn a great deal of culture so that they could behave better in society. That is no more today.
Of course, the beauty of being cultured is not just to present a better side to society. It is more of what it can do for you; giving you an edge in almost every room you find yourself in.
The best part of it all is that you don’t have to do anything you don’t like to attain the high cultural ladder. Here are some ideas that can open your eyes up to things you've never experienced before, and they are fun, too.
Learn how art is appreciated
Read works of authors from far and wide
